Therapy

I offer a non-judgmental, radically compassionate and accepting space for people to seek and speak their truth. Through the collaborative process of therapy, you and I will work together to bring awareness to the issues impacting your self and your loved ones.

I offer therapy services to individuals of all ages, adult couples, and families. I emphasize your knowledge, experience, and autonomy as the centerpiece to the therapeutic process. I believe examination leads to understanding which leads to acceptance and change.

Training

Harm reduction is finally starting to become part of the mainstream conversation about working with people who use drugs and engage in risky behaviors. More and more agencies are adapting this philosophy as they create service programs supporting those who have been impacted by the criminalization of drugs and poverty. My experience in harm reduction includes program development/implementation, program management, and pilot programs offering innovative service delivery systems. I draw upon this experience to offer harm reduction trainings that help community organizations and programs grow into harm reduction.

Examples of organizations I've provided trainings for include youth focused outreach programs, hospice/residential care, foster youth programs, low-threshold community mental health services, and HIV+/AIDS integrated health programs.

Examples of trainings available: Intro to Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma and Harm Reduction, Overdose Prevention/Response, Low-Threshold Counseling, and Harm Reduction 101 (Advanced).

Consultation

I offer consultation for helping professionals (therapists, doctors, social workers, educators, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc) who work with people who use drugs and/or engage in risky behaviors. Often helping professionals feel stuck when providing care and support to people who use drugs, especially clients who don't fit into the predominant method of substance use treatment (abstinence only programs).

I offer support, feedback, and provide harm reduction techniques for consideration in a professional's work with clients who use drugs. This includes helping professionals understand the stages of change, the philosophy of harm reduction, and how it can be an effective tool used to support people who use drugs and/or engage in risky behaviors.

Contact me today to schedule a free initial consultation during which we will discuss the support you're looking for and how I can help.
