About Me

Since 2011, I have worked in harm reduction and community mental health as a counselor, case manager, advocate, social worker, consultant, trainer, and therapist (sometimes all at once!). My experience includes providing support to unstably housed youth and young adults, gay/bi/trans men who have sex with men (MSM) who also deal with issues related to substance use, people living with HIV+/AIDS, end of life care, people impacted by the criminal justice system, parents, trauma survivors, sex workers, and affirming care for trans-/non-binary folx.

I specialize in harm reduction therapy, with an emphasis on how substance use intersects with PTSD/Trauma, end of life, major life transitions, chronic health conditions, and mental health issues (such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, and personality disorders). I am passionate about providing radically compassionate and accepting care to individuals with all life experiences.

My Approach

As a therapist, I utilize a humanistic/relational approach. I value each person I work with as an expert on their own life and strive to create a collaborative space where each person's unique knowledge, experience, values, goals, and autonomy are centered. I believe that a compassionate, safe, and strong relational connection is the foundation to providing a therapeutic space for clients to experience empowered growth and change.

As a trainer and consultant, my approach is the same as a therapist. I work with each organization or professional to understand their unique needs as it applies to their professional setting and the populations they serve. I strive to help organizations and professionals understand how harm reduction can be applied to their setting. All of the trainings I offer are unique and specific to each organization/professional.
